Reflexology which has its roots in ancient Egypt works on the principle that every organ and system of the body has a corresponding point or zone in the feet. Reflexology is a gentle therapy that relieves tension and clears blockages by stimulating sensory receptors in the nerve fibres of the foot producing energy that branches to the spinal cord where it is dispersed throughout the nervous system.
A light pressure is used to massage each of the point in the toe, feet and ankles using small movements with the thumb and fingers. Talcum powder is used a medium and a nourishing peppermint cream is massaged into the feet at the end of the treatment. Clients have found that a reflexology treatment is wonderfully soothing and relaxing.
Sometimes a series of sessions are necessary to resolve any problems. Some clients book a weekly or monthly session as a preventative measure to keep their systems balanced and in good working order.
Reflexology can be used to treat a wide range of disorders including, skin and respiratory conditions, migraines, PMS and menopausal problems , chronic fatigue, stress, depression and anxiety, keeping the bodies energy flowing and the mind in balance.
